Even pirates

Richard Adler's picture

Johann Hari's You are being lied to about pirates has been making the rounds this week. Another interesting example of how the net has changed everything for alternative views.

Not that this argument (valid or no) will ever make it to the mainstream media. But then the MSM is losing viewers and readers, aren't they?

It does make one wonder why. Hmm.

This kind of info just seems

This kind of info just seems to get buried more and more. Surprised that while misinformaiton about http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-h875/show seemed to spread like wildfire (got excited about it myself), other buried info barely gets noticed.

Seems that media ecology as a field is still very relevant to what is happening in your world.

This site is a really good model for verification of Journalism:

http://newstrust.net/stories/40999

Newstrust is related to social publishing, too, really.

Would be interesting to try and visualize and analyze news reviewing sources like newstrust and others, or aggregate, and visualize, with one axis being news stories, and one being ratings based on veracity, quality, etc etc
