Henry and Iva Miller's farm at TR 110, Millersburg, Ohio will host the 4th Family Farm Field Day in Holmes County, Ohio. The focus of the field day is to provide an educatinal format for grass-based agriculture; suppporting low energy and non-industrial way of farming; promoting living skills for families in healthy and economical way; and builidng morale and enthusiasm in the farming community. Keynote speaker is David Kline, organic farmer from Fredericksburg, Ohio sharing "What is on My Mind: consumers, farmers and the community" There are sessions for dairy graziers, farmstead activities on pastured based hens, Community Support Agriculture production system, Malcolm Beck sharing about composting for the farm and the garden. Homestead sessions will have cheese making, treating burns, local consumer panel on buying local food, and packing a healthy lunch box. Timber management and walks will be held and basic trapping sessions will be offered. Two children's tents will have farm animal safety, caring for small animals, looking at insects and soils; bike safety; animal and bird display, nature talks and nature walks and other hands on activities. Vendors will have demonstration through the day. Food stands are by the parochial schools special education parents. Small Farm Institute and the Family Farm Field Day Committee host this event. Driving directions: TR 110 is off CR 19. CR 19 goes east off SR 83. CR 19 is just north of Clark, Ohio on the Coshocton/Holmes County line or 8 miles south of Millersburg off SR 83. Go east on CR 19 for 4 miles and then turn left on TR 110 and go a mile to the site.
