Welcome again folks!
Just though that I'd offer a few orienting tips for using this site.
Posting to the site:
You can create a "blog posting", which will show up on the "Main Group" (http://socialsynergyweb.org/oardc/main-group) and also any other group you are subscribed to at http://socialsynergyweb.org/oardc/og by checking the appropriate audience checkboxes in the post submission form. This post will now show up in your blog, and all of the groups you post it to.
When you post, an email alert is sent out to everyone subscribed to the groups you post to.
Commenting on posts:
The only way to comment on posts is in the site itself. There are links in every email that will take you directly to both the post "View Original", and a place to comment on the post: "Post Reply". You must follow those links in order to reply to posts.
If you reply to the email in your email program, only the site admin will see your reply. No one else will see it, unless you follow the link in the email to "Post Reply" and actually post your reply on the site.
Formatting:
The site allows special formatting, but much of this cannot be processed by the plain text that is sent out through email. We send out emails in plain text to assure that everyone can read them. If you post to groups where others are subscribed by email, or if you email people from the site, please avoid special formatting if possible. Special formatting includes bold, underline, italics, smileys, highlighting, headers, special fonts, etc. If you see emails with lots of html code in them coming from the site, you may need to click on "view original post" to view, because the post contains special formatting that cannot be turned into plain text to be sent out by email.
Questions?
Please post them right here on the site! If you are reading this in your email, just click on "Post Reply" link to leave a comment!
If you are not already subscribed to the Main Group, please visit http://socialsynergyweb.org/oardc/main-group to subscribe.

We will be conferencing by telephone this Friday at 10:00 am to move the Value Added discussion forward. Details for the call in will be available by Tuesday morning.
Please set some time aside to help us brainstorm next steps for getting the data we need to establish the processing infrastructre at the scale and in the locations that lead to the greatest effectiveness.

creating blog
I found a bit about creating a blog for all comments connected to groups we have joined, but honestly, we cannot figure out how to do it. I see other subscribers have blog where I can see all their postings. Can you give me more detail about setting that up? Wehn I go to the link, I see a list of groups but no info about creating a blog of postings...

Bloggin
Normally Sam Rose, our programmer/administrator, would be getting back to you on these questions but he's off this week on a well-earned vacation with family. So I'll try to help.
We've organized the site around working groups. If you click on Home, you get the options for various kinds of blogs that can be posted (message, idea, question, business plans).
Whenever you create one of these you get a list of the groups below the text box where you or paste in the text of the post so that you can select which group or groups should see the post. This will add the post to the blog postings for that group and generate an email to all members of the group with a link back to the post.
Any time anyone creates a blog posting you'll see <user name>'s blog as a link at the bottom of the post. If you click on that link you'll see all of the posts generated by that person.
As I understand it, comments remain "attached" to the original posting. So if you want to create a blog then you would do it with the buttons on the Home page rather than via comments to existing blog postings.
Hope that makes sense and when Sam gets back he might be able to help as well.
Casey
ps. I'll answer your questions about the endowment funds in a message to the main group (everyone subscribed), as I'm guessing others will have the same question.
wooster OFFER field day
If anyone attends todays field day in Wooster, particularly the session about organic grains, we'd like to hear about it through a posting here.
