As requested at the last task force meeting, I've created a wiki page that each of you can use to input information about existing data sets that could contribute to food systems assessment. To add information in the table please click on the title of the wiki page (Food Systems Assessment Metadata Table...) to bring the table up, and then choose "edit". Please let me know if there are additional columns that should be added to the table for a more complete record of the available data. Thanks, and we'll look forward to seeing you friday.

Meta Data Table
Some questions/ suggestions for the table you put together Casey (thank you very much by the way!)
I am wondering if we can collapse a couple of the columns- generated and stored by as one,
beginning and end date - just as date of study
One other potential addition would be the scope of the data- local, regional, state or federal.
Will we be able to access the data without having GIS software?
Thanks again Casey,
Amalie
Table and data access
Hi Amalie and task force members,
Shouldn't be a problem to change the columns, I'll take care of that next.
As far as using the datasets, the database software column will tell us what software is needed for each of the datasets, and I'm guessing that it will vary (GIS, Excel, Access, Oracle, etc.). That would mean we (i.e. the person hired if our recommendation is successful) probably would need to break the analysis down into manageable pieces and probably still will need to convert and merge datasets from different sources and formats to complete a given piece.
