OFPAC - Healthy Foods Access
This task force works to address the following mission of the Governor's Exec. Order:
4c) Provide those in need with greater access to fresh and nutritious foods
Focus:
Maximize coordination of federal, state, and local resources; increase
participation rate in food stamp programs; ensure that we receive the maximum allocations for food assistance; full utilization of EBT technology at farmers markets in Ohio; streamline food assistance programs; nutrition and healthy food access issues; grow your own food issues; issues related to food and medicine.

Work Progressing on Mobile Poultry Processing Unit
Mon, 11/17/2008 - 11:24 — Megan ShoenfeltWork is progressing to develop an ODA approved mobile poultry processing unit. A large working group has met several times to brainstorm how a mobile unit and management system could be implemented. We toured the mobile unit that has just been built in Galion, Ohio, that will be shipped to the state of Vermont.

Farm to School starter info

I had asked Deb Eschmeyer for some advice and she was kind enough to provide a very thorough reply, excellent information and advice that should be shared! So here it is for those of you who might be considering similar conversations (thanks again, Deb)...
